Art Institute of Chicago
Don’t even visit Chicago without taking in the Art Institute of Chicago. The Art Institute is renowned for it’s collection of Impressionist and contemporary paintings. The collection includes an interesting series of Monet’s Haystacks and Grant Wood’s American Gothic.
Sears Tower
Well, it used to be the Sear’s Tower. Now it’s called the Willis Tower. The Sear’s Tower was the world’s tallest building until 1997, when it was topped by Malaysia’s Petronas Towers. You can bet the Sears Tower offers absolutely stunning views from its observatory and it’s well worth the time. The elevator is like a thrill ride lasting over a minute to the top.
Chicago Blues
Chicago is famous for the Blues and there are many nightclubs that feature urban blues artists. If you have the time, make sure you check out the Checkerboard Lounge on the South Side or the Legendary Buddy Guy’s on Wabash Avenue.
